To extend the learning and creative opportunities for our children, we offer extra-curricular activities which are linked to the curriculum.
As well as the traditional services that a day nursery offers, we take great pride in enhancing the well-being, experiences, and capabilities of the children at RIMU. We offer dance, drama, singing, sport, music lessons and French to all the children throughout each of the 51 weeks of the year that the nursery is open. This is all included in the fees.
Every day, specialist tutors teach the children a discipline from the performing arts. All the children from the babies in Baby Bach room through to the older children in Mini Mozart’s and Bouncing Beethoven’s are included in these activities. We feel that these classes provide a wonderful, exciting environment and many parents of RIMU children have commented what a difference these classes make to their child’s enjoyment at nursery, and they also appreciate that their children are exposed to these activities from an early age.
Monday – Sports Afternoon
Tuesday – Drama Morning
Wednesday- Dancing (Street/Ballet) Afternoon
Thursday – Singing Morning
Friday – French Morning
As well as the regular peripatetic classes, RIMU also organises a series of other activities throughout the year. Every Christmas and Easter, the children stage a play which involves them learning lines, songs and dances which they have been doing successfully since we opened. The nursery plays have proved so popular that many children continue with the performing arts by transitioning to Step Up which operates on weekends for 2-16 years old once they leave RIMU.
Where possible we also go out and visit the local community such as rhyme time at the local library, visiting the green grocer to buy some fresh fruit for snack, visiting the ducks at the pond or the playgrounds in the local area.
Regular trips to the theatre are also organised to see various children’s plays. We also take the children to the local pantomime every year at Greenwich Theatre. Below are other organisation that we deal with at RIMU.
